Doug earned became a Master Beekeeper through the University of Montana and continues to study and research the western honeybee (apis mellifera).
We thoroughly enjoy teaching people of all ages about honey, honeycomb, and the importance of honeybees and all pollinators particularly for our food supply chain. Many folks don't realize that a significant percentage of our food requires pollination.
With engaging presentations full of lots of current, fascinating and educational material for all ages, we love watching people "connect the dots" when it comes to all things honeybees. We have presented to preschoolers and to folks in assisted living. We often bring along an observation hive with live bees (visible through a glass barrier).
Doug has made presentations and taught lessons and in numerous schools, fairs, and other community events. Please reach out if you're interested in having Doug present or teach a lesson in your educational, club or group setting.
